✦   Welcome

A Place of Healing,
Prayer, and Communion

Magdalene House is an Independent Catholic mission community in Arizona, rooted in the ancient liturgical tradition of the Christian East. We are a community in formation — growing in faith, prayer, and mutual care — and we welcome all who are seeking Christ, whatever their background or history with the Church.

Our community gathers each week for the Divine Liturgy, Great Vespers, the Rosary of Divine Love, and other services of the Eastern rite. We offer catechesis for adults and children, spiritual direction, and the full sacramental life of the Church.

✦   The Liturgical Year

The Heartbeat of Our Community

The liturgical year is the heartbeat of our community. Each week brings new feasts, fasts, and opportunities to deepen in prayer. From the penitential season of Great Lent to the joy of Pascha and the celebration of the Twelve Great Feasts, we follow the rhythm of the Church's year, drawing ever closer to Christ.

✦   Upcoming Feasts

Great Feast

The Annunciation of the Theotokos

On this day the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary in Nazareth and announced that she would conceive and bear the Son of God. Her response — 'Behold the handmaid of the Lord' — is the model of all Christian faith: the free and total gift of oneself to God's will. The Annunciation is one of the Twelve Great Feasts of the Eastern liturgical year. It is celebrated with a Festal Vespers and Divine Liturgy, even when it falls during the Great Fast — for the joy of the Incarnation overrides the fast.
